“Loro Piana’s drive to achieve authentic quality has been a commitment – a passion – for six generations.”

Vision Statement
Loro Piana’s unique vision is to be the ultimate reference point for sophisticated consumers all over the world, especially those who demand the very best that life has to offer.

The Challenge
Loro Piana provides its discerning customers, who represent a niche at the very top of the luxury goods market, with innovative solutions for all of their lifestyle needs. Currently, Loro Piana has an exclusive range of gifts that is based on its heritage of working with the world’s finest fabrics. The task for Columbia Business School students and Parsons The New School for Design students was to determine the best strategy for expanding Loro Piana’s gift offering.

Exploring the Gift Proposal
When creating the new gift collection, students were inspired by the sophisticated customers, their lifestyles and needs as well as excellence in the choice of materials and in the quality of product design. The new gift collection spans across the following four categories: “My first Loro Piana” accompanies babies and children on the exciting journey of growing up, “Savvy” includes gifts for the modern, technology oriented customer who is constantly on the go, “Indulgence” provides the ultimate luxuries in life, and “Active” offers Loro Piana’s customers gifts for their sailing, horse riding or road trip adventures. The carefully selected gift collection combines the brand’s commitment to the world’s finest fabrics with functionality and sophistication. Examples of the gift collection include a luxurious card holder for two decks of playing cards and a set of dice as well as an all encompassing leather device holder featuring pockets for all of today’s travel necessities: iPad, passport, phone, earphones, business cards and chargers.
